Cronulla are preparing to unleash several dynamic recruits when they reprise their NRLW grand final rivalry with the Roosters in their sole pre-season trial at Sharks Stadium on Sunday.

The Sharks will tune up for their Round 1 home clash with the Eels as they step onto the field for the first time since a spirited 32-28 loss in the 2024 decider.

Kick-off is at 1.30pm, with the club's Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership squad tackling the Central Coast Roosters in a curtain-raising trial at 11am.

While a team won't be submitted until 24 hours before the game, the NRLW Sharks could field a strong side containing fresh faces like multi-code New Zealand international Tyla King, tearaway prop Jacinta Carter, young playmaker Chantay Kiria-Ratu and Indigenous All Stars forward Tommaya Kelly-Sines.

The hit-out provides a valuable opportunity for Sharks coach Tony Herman to test new combinations, with the all-important No.7 jersey seemingly up for grabs following the departure of halfback Tayla Preston to the Bulldogs.

King will be one contender for the role alongside the likes of Georgia Hannaway, who finished last season as Cronulla's first-choice five-eighth, and Kiria-Ratu.

Fullback Jada Taylor's looming return from an ACL injury could result in rep superstar Emma Verran shifting back to the halves, creating healthy competition.

Fans can attend the trials for $5 at the gate.
