Foundation Shark Quincy Dodd will continue to live out her childhood dream in black, white and blue after signing on for a further two seasons.

The international hooker's extension comes as she prepares for another huge campaign, ensuring she remains part of the fabric at Cronulla until at least the end of 2027.

Having grown up a stone's throw from Sharks Stadium, Dodd is thrilled to have secured a long-term extension at the club she always wanted to represent as a youngster.

'Easy decision': Dodd on re-signing with the Sharks

"It was quite an easy decision," said Dodd, Cronulla's first-ever NRLW signing.

"I've been a Shark for the majority of my life and I want to keep it that way.

"Every time I put this jersey on it means so much to me and my team, my family, the community and everyone around me. I wouldn't be here without them.

"It's been a dream come true for a while now. I remember being at the back of Shark Park on the hill playing footy with my brothers and having the best time, but never really realising that NRLW was going to be a thing or that females could play rugby league on this field.

"To be a part of that in this community and area, I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I'm happy to be here and I don't think I'll be going anywhere."

Dodd is yet to miss a game for the Sharks, featuring in all 20 NRLW matches since the club's inception including last year's historic grand final appearance.

The 25-year-old dummy-half has represented Australia, NSW and the Indigenous All Stars during a phenomenal first-grade career that started with the Roosters in 2019.

Dodd's journey has also included a successful stint at St George Illawarra, but her heart has always been with the Sharks.

A proud Cronulla High School alumnus who captained the Sharks to the 2018 Tarsha Gale Cup title, Dodd leapt at the chance to become the club's first NRLW signing in 2023.

Sharks coach Tony Herman is delighted to have Dodd locked down well into the future.

"Quincy is a Shark through and through, having started in our development programs when professional women's rugby league was yet to fully take off," Herman said.

"She is the ultimate professional and the soul of our team. As a coach, it's a comforting feeling to have someone as reliable as Quincy controlling the middle.

"We're over the moon that she's re-signed and we look forward to chasing more success together."

Dodd and her Cronulla teammates are in the midst of pre-season training ahead of a trial against the Roosters at Sharks Stadium on Sunday, June 22. They will kick off their premiership season against the Eels at home on Thursday, July 3.
