It's a treasured rite of passage for any Sutherland Shire local: heading to the iconic The Vinyl Room Nightclub Gymea to dance the night away after watching the mighty Sharks play.

Now, The Vinyl Room is bringing the disco directly to the football as the official sponsor of the 'SHARKS LIVE' platform manned by DJ Jonny in the south-east corner of Sharks Stadium.

Renowned for playing ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s bangers, DJ Jonny will incorporate a selection of the nightclub's favourite throwback tracks as he hypes the crowd each game day.

The SHARKS LIVE zone will light up the big screen during matches, including tonight's NRL blockbuster against the Storm, to ignite the Vinyl-inspired footy party.

"This exciting partnership solidifies the link between two of the Shire's most famous institutions," Sharks General Manager – Partnerships & Hospitality Kylie Lucas said.

"Generations of locals have experienced the ritual of cheering on the Sharks before continuing the fun at The Vinyl Room. With the dynamic SHARKS LIVE zone now up and running, the dancing will begin well before the final siren sounds at all our home matches.

"We're grateful to have had the support of The Vinyl Room as a player sponsor in recent years, and we're delighted to expand our association with such a legendary venue."

Located in the middle of the Gymea shopping strip, less than 100 metres from the train station, The Vinyl Room has been the heartbeat of the Shire club scene since 1983.

The ever-popular club's welcoming, intergenerational environment offers something for everyone, whether it be fresh-faced youngsters grooving to retro hits, seasoned revellers reliving the nostalgia of their glory days or anyone in between looking for a good time.
