Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons Game II squad

Harvey Norman Maroons Head Coach, Tahnee Norris, has today announced the squad that will go to battle against New South Wales next week in Game II of the Women’s State of Origin Series.

The Maroons squad remains predominantly the same, with Norris making only one change: adding Chelsea Lenarduzzi to the bench and moving Destiny Brill to the 19th jersey.

Lenarduzzi made her first appearance in maroon colours in 2017 in the Interstate Challenge before playing State of Origin in 2019 and has consistently been involved with the team over the years.

The 29-year-old Broncos prop is best known for her strong post-contact metres and ability to offload the ball. Lenarduzzi’s strength will prove to be a valued asset for the Maroons as they look to regather and tie up the series next week.

“I wanted to bolster the size in our middle, and Chelsea gives us that,” Norris said.

I’m excited to see what Duzzi (Lenarduzzi) can bring to the team. She’s got a big frame and work rate, so it’ll be good for us.

“I am disappointed for Destiny after she missed out, but I am eager to see what Game II will look like.”

Tamika Upton and Ali Brigginshaw will continue to sit as co-captains, leading their team down south for what the Maroons expect to be another blockbuster comeback.
