Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon has named his 22-man squad for Friday night's Magic Round clash with the Eels at Suncorp Stadium.

While Mawene Hiroti (high-grade MCL strain) will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks, KL Iro is poised to make a timely return from a hamstring tear in his place.

Previously known as Kayal, Iro has decided to go by his unofficial birth name of KL in a nod to his father Kevin Leslie Iro's initials.

Elsewhere, prop Braden Hamlin-Uele has replaced Tuku Hau Tapuha on the interchange bench after making a successful return from a knee cartilage injury through the Newtown Jets in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup last week.

After scoring a try against the Wests Tigers in Round 8, Billy Burns will again start in the second row as Teig Wilton recovers from a shoulder issue.

Kick-off is at 6pm on Friday, with live coverage on Foxtel and Kayo.
