Senior Representative team lists: Round 1

The Jersey Flegg Sharks and the Newtown Jets will officially commence their 2025 campaigns against the Panthers at Parker Street Reserve, Penrith on Saturday afternoon.

Having narrowly gone down to the Bulldogs in last year's grand final, Andrew Dallalana is back on deck as Cronulla's Jersey Flegg coach with a promising squad at his disposal, including several players from the 2024 side.

After playing in a recent NRL trial, centre Michael Gabrael, five-eighth Taj Ford, halfback Riley Pollard, prop Felix Faatili and lock Sam McCulloch will line up at under-21 level alongside several promising SG Ball Cup graduates.

The Flegg Sharks defeated Penrith 40-26 in the second week of last year's finals series during a magical run of 10 consecutive victories en route to the decider.

The Jets – Cronulla's feeder club – will begin their Knock-On Effect NSW Cup premiership defence against a Panthers team that finished third last season.

Sharks NRL squad members Billy Burns, Niwhai Puru, Hohepa Puru, Chris Vea'ila, Mawene Hiroti, Liam Ison and Jayden Berrell are set to turn out for Newtown.

The Flegg match will kick off at 12pm, followed by the NSW Cup fixture at 2pm.
