Royce Hunt has been elevated to start at prop against the Titans in a late switch with Tom Hazelton, who will come off the bench tonight.

Uncapped winger Tom Rodwell remains the 18th man as a potential concussion substitute, with hooker Jayden Berrell dropping out of the extended squad.

As announced in yesterday's update, powerful front-rower Tuku Hau Tapuha will take the place of Toby Rudolf on the interchange at C.ex International Stadium.

Utility Daniel Atkinson, who impressed at five-eighth earlier in the year, has been named on the wing for the first time in his NRL career. Regular right flanker Sione Katoa didn't travel to Coffs Harbour as he recovers from a head knock.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast confirmed on Thursday that star playmaker AJ Brimson's return from a groin injury has been delayed; Tanah Boyd will instead start at five-eighth. Former Maroons representative Phillip Sami will also miss the clash after straining his calf, with Beau Fermor moving to centre.

The Sharks are aiming to stay unbeaten at C.ex International Stadium, having successfully taken games to the NSW north coast venue for the past three years.
