Newtown have powered into third on the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup ladder and can continue their ascent by notching up a sixth consecutive win against the Roosters on Saturday afternoon.

At their most recent outing, the Jets pulled away with a 34-18 victory over the in-form Eels to solidify themselves in the top five halfway through the season.

With hooker Jayden Berrell having returned from an elbow injury last week, along with gun forward Jesse Colquhoun (foot), Newtown are primed to keep the momentum rolling in front of their home faithful at the iconic Henson Park.

The 12th-placed Roosters, meanwhile, are looking to score their first win since Round 8 after being overrun by the Warriors in a 24-16 defeat last weekend.

The Jets will be without the services of damaging prop Tuku Hau Tapuha, who has been recalled to Cronulla's NRL side after a powerful performance for Newtown.

Kick-off is at 3pm, with the match to be streamed on NSWRL TV.
