Katoa charged by MRC

Sea Eagles skipper Daly Cherry-Evans will head to the NRL Judiciary on Tuesday night to contest the grading of the Dangerous Throw offence he was charged for in Round 8.

Alongside teammate Haumole Olakau'atu, Cherry-Evans was cited for a Grade 2 Dangerous Throw for his role in the tackle on Parramatta's Shaun Lane, with both initially facing two-match bans with early guilty pleas that became three-match bans if found guilty at Panel. 

While the club has entered early guilty pleas for both players, they've opted to seek a downgrade to a Grade 1 offence for Cherry-Evans.

Olakau'atu will serve a two-match ban as a result of his early guilty plea to the Grade 2 charge and will miss Round 9 and Round 10. 

Taane Milne will miss the Rabbitohs' next two games after entering an early guilty plea to a Grade 3 Dangerous Contact charge picked up in the final minute of his side's loss to the Storm on ANZAC Day. 

Eels wing Maika Sivo has been hit with a $3000 fine after pleading guilty to his third and subsequent Dangerous Contact charge in the loss to the Sea Eagles, while Titans back-rower David Fifita has been fined $1800 for his second Dangerous Contact offence. 

Dragons fullback Tyrell Sloan will pay two fines of $1000 each after entering guilty pleas on two different Dangerous Contact charges from Round 8, while Warriors rookie Jacob Laban has also been fined $1000 for the same offence. 

Penrith's Liam Henry and Parramatta's Ryan Matterson have each entered guilty pleas after being cited for Careless High Tackles, with both receiving $1000 fines.  

Pleas are due Tuesday for Kenny Bromwich (Dangerous Contact) and Teig Wilton (Careless High Tackle).
