Jets Team List - Round 2

While there were a number of encouraging signs to come from the Jets round one match against the Warriors, the end result left the Newtown team disappointed with the New Zealanders scoring a last minute try to emerge 28-24 winners.

A Sam Healey try, his second of the afternoon had put Newtown on top 24-20 inside the final 10 minutes of the match, however two late Warrior tries tipped the ledger in favour of the home team in the game played as the curtain-raiser to the Sharks v Warriors NRL clash.

The Jets will aim to rebound this Friday night when they play the Bulldogs at PointsBet Stadium in round two, again as a prelude to the NRL match, this week featuring the Sharks and Bulldogs.

In one significant alteration to the Jets team, Daniel Atkinson moves from the halves to fullback, with the experienced Billy Magoulias named at five eighth.

Eight players from the Sharks full time NRL training group, including Atkinson, halfback Niwhai Puru, prop Tuku Hau Tapuha and hooker Jayden Berrell have been included in the Jets line up.

The Jets v Bulldogs Knock On Effect NSW Cup match is scheduled for a 3.40pm kick off, with the Sharks and Bulldogs NRL game getting underway at 6.00pm.
