Junior reps prepare for final trials

Two weeks out from round one, the Sharks junior representative teams will have their third and final trial matches on Saturday.

The men's Harold Matthews (under 17s) and SG Ball (19s) squads will host the Bulldogs at the Sharks Academy (Cronulla High School fields).

Meanwhile, the women's Lisa Fiaola (17s) and Tarsha Gale (19s) sides will continue their preparations against the Bears at Hills Grammar, Kenthust.

Having used extended squads for pre-Christmas clashes with Souths and last Saturday's hit-outs against the Tigers and Magpies, the coaches may opt to give more minutes to their strongest line-ups this time leading into a weekend off.

All teams have shown promise during the pre-season. The Tarsha Gale (two wins) and SG Ball (one win, one draw) sides remain undefeated while the Lisa Fiaola and Harold Matthews have gone down fighting in their games.

All four teams officially begin their seasons on February 3 against the Tigers at PointsBet Stadium.

There's still a few weeks until the men's Jersey Flegg (under 21s) squad step out for a trial match, with their season largely mirroring the NRL schedule.

Please see the details for Saturday's games below.
