Around 150 thrilled kids packed North Cronulla Beach on Wednesday to catch waves and play games with some of their rugby league idols.
The weather was ideal for the second annual Junior Jaws Footy and Surf clinic, presented by Sharks Have Heart in conjunction with Cronulla Surfing Academy, as cloud cover provided respite from the sun and the rain stayed away.
Sharks NRL players Blayke Brailey, Jesse Ramien, Kade Dykes and Toby Rudolf enthusiastically joined the keen participants, aged 5-14, in fun drills including kick tennis and bull rush before jumping in the water to help the youngsters body-board and surf.
NRLW stars Emma Tonegato, Jada Taylor and Andie Robinson, along with Sharks community staff, were also on hand to coach the children through the activities.
Cronulla Surfing Academy founder Blake Johnston, who surfed for 40 hours straight last year to break the world record for the longest session, and his professional team gave the children a crash course in water safety and surfing technique.
All participants received a show bag containing Sharks merchandise, with the players happily adding prized autographs to their gear and posing for photos.
