NRLW Team List - Sharks v Broncos

The NRLW Sharks are set to head into a clash with the Brisbane Broncos without two key members of the backline for a match they need to win to keep their 2023 Finals hopes alive.

Powerhouse centre Anessa Biddle will miss the match after accepting a one-match suspension for what was deemed to be a hip drop tackle, while winger Andie Robinson will be sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in her team’s last start loss to the Knights.

Robinson, who has been strong for the Sharks through the first six rounds, injured her lateral meniscus, is visiting a surgeon today and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.

The return to play period for Robinson is expected to be four months.

“Andie has done a really good job for us this season, whether it was when she was on the wing or the games she played at fullback while Jada was sidelined. The injury is disappointing for her and for the team and she will certainly be missed,” Coach Tony Herman said.

In a positive for the Sharks, they have two experienced campaigners to call on, with Cassie Staples named to play in the centres, Kiana Takairangi on the wing.

Otherwise the Sharks have named a team with no further changes to the one which fought back strongly but came up just short in the 22-14 Newcastle loss.

The NRLW clash between the Sharks and Broncos is the first game of an NRLW double header and is scheduled for a 12:50pm kick off in neutral territory in Townsville.
