Madimack 'Power Players' - Round 14

It was a disappointing night in the Shire on Saturday as the Sharks went down to the Broncos in round 14.

Despite the result, we take a look at the Madimack 'Power Players' from the clash, who did their best to turn the tide.

WILL KENNEDY

The Sharks fullback tried his guts out all night on Saturday.

Doing his best to get the Sharks on the front foot, Kennedy was busy at the back, trying to find a way to crack through the stern Broncos defence, and more than holding his own defensively.

Kennedy banged out 212 metres on the night, with three tackle breaks and a line break to add to a clever solo try in the dying stages of the clash.

Kennedy regathered his own grubber kick to score just four minutes before fulltime but it was too little, too late for the home team.

SIFA TALAKAI

Back into the side after an issue with his neck, Sifa Talakai was back to his hard working best.

One for the tough carries, Talakai was taking the first hit up of the set more often than not, doing his best to bend the Broncos line on his way to 190 run metres.

His highlight would come in the 22nd minute, when Hynes put him through the Broncos line like a hot knife through butter, racing away to score a long range try of the scrum play.

BRADEN HAMLIN-UELE

Coming off the bench for the home side, Braden Hamlin-Uele was impactful. Doing his best to turn the tide on the clash.

In his 41 minutes in the middle, Hamlin-Uele clocked in 129 run metres, 53 of those post-contact and constantly looked like he was troubling the Brisbane defence with his damaging runs.

With three tackle breaks to his name, BHU was also solid on the other side of the ball, making 14 tackles in the middle.

JACK WILLIAMS

Another one off the Sharks bench with plenty of impact was Jack Williams.

In his short 27 minute stint, Williams was busy on both sides of the ball.

Running for 81 metres on the night, 28 of those post-contact with three tackle breaks, Williams was also solid defensively notching 23 tackles at an efficiency of 92%.

NEXT UP

The task doesn't get any easier for the Sharks, who will travel to Melbourne for a Sunday afternoon showdown with the Storm.
