Flegg Sharks swamp the Sea Eagles

The Jersey Flegg Sharks started fast and kept the foot well and truly on the throats of the Sea Eagles from that point, the young Cronulla side scoring a resounding 40-4 victory to maintain their position towards the top of the competition table.

The Sharks crossed for two tries to open a 10-point lead inside the opening 10 minutes of the match, half back Cody Fuz touching first, the second to Noah Lester, with two futher first half four-pointers pushing the lead out to 18-0 with half time approaching.

Letting their guard down the Sea Eagles scored their only points of the match with siren sounding in the background courtesy of a well placed cross field kick and the teams went to the break with the Sharks up 18-4.

Defending consecutive sets on their try line the Sharks efforts were rewarded, with Fuz making a line break, before finding speedster Cain Barnes in support, the winger dashing away to score under the uprights.

Fuz was in the game again soon after, slicing through the Manly defence before sending his halves partner Max Riolo and with two Riolo conversions to go with the quick two Sharks tries and the score had blown out to 30-4 to the Sharks.

Controlling the remainder of the game the Sharks kept their opponents scoreless while getting two more tries of their own, with the final margin an indication of their superiority on the day.

The Sharks will move into second position on the Flegg ladder with the win, with their next assignment a game against the Newcastle Knights at Henson Park on Saturday.
