After beating the competition leading Bulldogs last week the Newtown Jets are back in action on Saturday when they take on traditional rivals the North Sydney Bears in a round 9 KOE NSW Cup match to be played at Henson Park.
The Jets weathered the storm in the first half against the Bulldogs before dominating the second period in what was an impressive performance.
The win saw the Jets move 12 points on the competition table, level with the ladder-leading Warriors but in third position on for-and-against. This week’s opponents in the Bears are fourth, also on 12 points in what is a congested top end of the NSW Cup table.
Should they hope to get the better of the North Sydney side the Jets will be looking for similar performances from the likes of Connor Tracey, Jayden Berrell and middle forward Celeb Uele, with that trio amongst Newtown’s best in their win over the Bulldogs.
The Jets v Bears clash is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off at Henson Park.
