The Sharks are inviting applications from players interesting in trialling for the 2023 Sharks Winter Academy and for staff looking to assist with the implementation of the program.
The Sharks Winter Academy is a program open to players registered and playing with local Cronulla-Sutherland District junior league clubs, with squads to be assembled in the under 13’s, 14’s, 15’s, 16’s and 18’s age groups.
The Winter Academy follows the just completed junior representative season highlighted by the Sharks Matthews Cup team qualifying for the under-17’s Finals series before being narrowly beaten by the Parramatta Eels in their elimination semi-final match.
In continuing to identify and progress local talent, the Sharks Winter Academy is integral to the success of the club’s development program for both the 2024 junior representative season and beyond.
The trials will be conducted at the Sharks Academy Field at Cronulla High School, with dates and times detailed below.
Players will be informed if they have been accepted to trial and if so are to come ready to train.
Should strapping be required it should be done prior to arrival or before the commencement of the training/trial session.
Players will be required to bring boots, mouthguards, suitable training attire, drink bottle and waiver form. It is advised to bring completed waiver forms, however forms will also be made available at the trials.
More training details will be provided those players selected to trial.
The Sharks are also looking for expressions of interest to fill staff Winter Academy positions and roles including Coaches, Sports Trainer, Physiotherapist, Equipment Coordinator, Strength & Conditioning, Team Manager Ground Announcer/Timer.

Applications close FRIDAY MAY 12, with the Winter Academy to involve weekly training sessions in addition to trials/games against other NRL clubs and will commence on MONDAY MAY 29.
ALL TRIALS – Monday – May 15 at Sharks Academy Fields, Cronulla High School
Times will be as follows.
U13s – Arrive at 4:15pm
U14s – Arrive at 5:15pm
U15s – Arrive at 6:15pm
U16s – Arrive at 7:15pm
U18s – Arrive at 7:45pm
