Finucane to miss three matches

Dale Finucane has accepted the early guilty plea on a dangerous contact charge and will miss the Sharks next three matches.

The Sharks skipper was charged with grade two dangerous contact by the NRL's match review committee for a 'hip drop' tackle on Warriors fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad in the 75th minute of last Sunday's match.

Finucane was penalised and sent to the sin bin as a result of the incident.

Warriors forward Marata Niukore was also charged with grade two dangerous contact for a similar tackle on Sharks centre Siosifa Talakai in the first half of the round five match.

While disappointed,  Finucane and the Sharks reluctantly accepted the penalty rather than risking a further week on the sidelines should they have challenged at a judiciary hearing and been unsuccessful.

The Sharks have a round six bye before facing the Sydney Roosters in their next match to be played on a Friday night at PointsBet Stadium in round seven.

After serving his four-match suspension Wade Graham becomes available for selection for the Sharks next match.
