Braydon Trindall in the Sharks halves for Nicho Hynes is the only noteworthy change to the Sharks predicted round one line-up for Saturday night's clash with the Rabbitohs at PointsBet Stadium.
Hynes has failed to overcome a minor calf complaint and will miss the season opener, with Trindall a ready-made replacement, the 23-year-old coming into the game with 38 games of NRL experience under his belt.
In other team news, as expected, Teig Wilton has been named to start the game in the back row, with Wade Graham on the interchange bench, while new recruit Oregon Kaufusi becomes Shark #556 in his debut match for the Cronulla club.
Kaufusi and Graham will be joined by Cameron McInnes and Jack Williams as Sharks interchange players.
The Sharks backline named for round one takes on a familiar look to 2022, with Will Kennedy at fullback, Sione Katoa and Ronaldo Mulitalo on the wings and the recently re-signed pair of Jesse Ramien and Siosifa Talakai in the centres.
Dale Finucane, who starts the game at lock, shares the captaincy duties with Graham.
The Sharks v Souths match is scheduled for a 7.30pm kick-off at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday.
