The mercury climbed to 30 degrees for the first time during the current Sydney summer however when your Sharks school holiday clinic is all about footy and includes surfing lessons courtesy of Cronulla Surf Academy, the warm and sunny weather was welcomed by all.

Around 150 boys and girls enjoyed a morning of footy fun on the sand at North Cronulla Beach, running through skills and drills with experienced coaches.

Sharks NRL stars and keen beach goers Teig Wilton, Blayke Brailey and Connor Tracey, headed down to lend a hand, as did Women’s rugby league legend Ruan Sims and five willing helpers including Talei Holmes and Andie Robinson from her Sharks Harvey Norman’s Premiership team.

And when the participants weren’t running, passing, tackling or kicking, the kids jumped into the waves for some surf lessons, conducted under the guidance of the experienced staff from the Cronulla Surf Academy.

The first year of a partnership between Sharks Have Heart and Cronulla Surf Academy, the clinics aimed to provide an event that was about having fun, meeting new friends, getting active and learning new skills, with the first footy-surf clinic hailed as a raging success by all who took part.

Don’t believe us? Then see our video presentation, with Sharks Media on hand to capture some of the action both at the footy and surf clinic at North Cronulla and at Wanda where the Mini Mermaids had some fun learning a few special dance moves.
