Academy sponsors renew their support for 2023
After a year in which the Matthews Cup and NSW Women’s Premiership Sharks qualified for Grand Finals and the Jersey Flegg, SG Ball and Tarsha Gale teams proved to be highly competitive in their various competitions, there is plenty of optimism for all concerned heading into the 2023 season.
Women’s rugby league legend Ruan Sims takes over the reins of the Women’s premiership side, former Sharks First Grade half back Andrew Dallalana the Jersey Flegg squad, with newcomer Neil Stanley, with extensive experience in women’s rugby league, in charge of the Tarsha Gale girls.
Add to that highly the respected Brad Kelly (Matthews Cup) and Dave Howlett (SG Ball) return to coach the under 17’s and 19’s Sharks and all is in place for a successful 2023 for the Club’s junior representative and academy squads.
Further highlighting the health of the Sharks Academy program and the positivity around their prospects for not only the upcoming season but the years to come, is the continued support of a group of committed corporate partners keen to get behind the Sharks NRL and NRLW players of the future.
Sponsors in 2022 and back on board in 2023 are John Ryan Freight Management, Minespec Parts, SBA Earthmoving and Attachments and Shore Hire, with Sharks Development & Pathways Manager Glenn Brailey appreciative of the support they provide.
“We are proud of the academy program we have in place, one which is the envy of other NRL clubs and are thrilled to have a group of corporate partners willing to support what we do,” Brailey said.
“For all our apparel partners to be returning for the upcoming season indicates they see value in our academy program and the various teams and we will be doing all we can to be successful once again in 2023.”
As major partner of all men’s and women’s academy teams, this year to also include the Sharks NSW Women’s Premiership side, John Ryan Freight Management returns for a fourth season as front of jersey sponsor.
For Minespec Parts, 2023 will be the third year they have taken up the top back jersey position, it will be the second season on the jersey sleeve for SBA, a long-term supporter of the Sharks junior programs, while Shore Hire is again the sternum sponsor after their branding also appeared in that space in 2022.
All teams are back in pre-season training, with a kick-off to their respective 2023 seasons scheduled for February 4.
