Hunt and Kaufusi to represent in World Cup final

Royce Hunt and 2023 new recruit Oregon Kaufusi have been named in the Toa Somoa team to take on the Kangaroos in the World Cup final.

History will be made at Old Trafford on Sunday morning (AEDT) when defending champions Australia take on first-time finalists Samoa at the Theatre of Dreams.

Kaufusi who clashed heads with team-mate Nu Brown in the first half of the semi-final v England, has been cleared to play and will take his place in the team.

Samoa received some high-profile support with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson filming an inspirational message to his 348+ million social media followers.

Shark Daniel Holdsworth, assistant coach of Samoa told SEN radio earlier this week “We dare to dream, the boys are confident, they understand what talent we have in the room, we’ve been up against it the whole time, and no one has really backed them at all”

“We’re riding the momentum, we’ll go in there prepared and have a game plan, the boys will be confident and just give it a crack. They understand they will need to be at their best, close to perfect to beat the Aussies, but why not really – we’ve come this far so we will be there to throw down”

We wish Royce, Oregon and Daniel all the best in the World cup final. We know they will do us proud representing on the world stage
