Another impressive victory last weekend, this one a 46-14 win over Mounties, has the Newtown Jets flying high and looking to continue their strong recent form when they tackle the Parramatta Eels in a round 18 Knock-On Effect NSW Cup clash on Sunday.
The Jets ran away with last weekend's match late in the contest, the win leaving them in second position on the KOE ladder, with Sunday's game against the fifth-placed Eels an opportunity to consolidate their spot towards the top of the competition table.
Franklin Pele was one of the stars of Newtown's win last week, the hard-charging prop scoring a hat trick of tries, the last one an incredible 80-metre solo effort.
Also strong for the Jets of late has been youngster Kade Dykes, with the Sharks-contracted playmaker in excellent form following a recent shift from fullback into the halves.
