After the Canberra Raiders spoiled the Jets ambitions to climb to the top of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup ladder last weekend, the Newtown team will aim to bounce back when they again go on the road in round 14.
The Jets went down by 30-22 however despite the loss remain in second position on the KOE ladder, while with three teams just one point behind they will be keen to claim the two competition points when they take on the Newcastle Knights this Sunday.
The Raiders dominated the first three-quarters of the contest last week, running out to a 30-4 lead, before the Jets at least showed plenty of heart in scoring three late tries to narrow the final margin of defeat.
Luke Metcalf crossed for two tries in the loss, with the versatile Tyla Tamou and Caleb Uele, the younger brother of Sharks star Braden Hamlin-Uele, the other scores for the Newtown side.
This weekend the Jets will play Newcastle as the curtain-raiser to the NRL clash featuring the Knights and Panthers.
