Jets Team List – Round 12

As a result of the injuries and suspensions affecting the Sharks NRL squad it was a young and inexperienced Jets team which managed to get the job done in recording a 26-12 victory over Mounties last weekend.

The Jets maintained second position on the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup ladder with the win and will be aiming to consolidate their place on the table with another victory, this week against the Western Suburbs Magpies in a round 12 clash on Sunday.

Again, with the Sharks missing a handful of key personnel, Newtown’s depth will be challenged, however coach Greg Matterson has the Jets gliding along and playing with confidence in defense of the NSW Cup title won the last time the competition was decided back in 2019.

However in a bonus to the Jets chances, fullback Locky Miller returns after making an outstanding NRL debut for the Sharks last Sunday afternoon on the Gold Coast.

With eight wins from their 10 matches this year the Jets sit just two points behind the competition leading Panthers, with Magpies at the bottom of the table after recording just one victory so far in 2022.

The Jets v Magpies match is scheduled for a 1pm kick-off at Lidcombe Oval on Sunday. See the Newtown team listed below.
