Tarsha Sharks go down to Dogs

Again they battled hard but came up short, with the Tarsha Gale Sharks suffering their third loss to start the 2022 season in going down by 22-4 to the Bulldogs on Saturday in a round three match played at Belmore Sports Ground.

The Sharks responded to an early Bulldogs try to trail by just 6-4 at the half time break, but it was all one-way traffic in the second period, their opponents controlling field position and running away with the points.

The Sharks try came courtesy of winger Esther Kautoga but unfortunately it was her team’s only score on the day, with the Cronulla girls now desperate for a win next weekend when they host the North Sydney Bears.

For the Bulldogs, the win saw them move to fifth on the competition table, with three teams so far undefeated in the Roosters Indigenous Academy, the Illawarra Steelers and the Dragons.

The Bears sit in seventh position on the Tarsha Gale ladder, with the Sharks 11th as one of four teams yet to notch a victory so far this season.

The Sharks and Bears match is scheduled for a 2pm kick off at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday.
