Monday night football saw the Sharks fight back in the first half to make it a six-point ball game at the break before the Sea Eagles ran away with it in the second leaving Cronulla clinging to eighth spot.
The Sharks are now one of five teams stuck on 18 competition points all trying to jag a finals spot.
It was a disappointing result for the Sharks, but despite the loss, there were a number of players with strong individual performances, doing their utmost best to get the team back into the match.
The effort from fullback Will Kennedy couldn’t be faulted, scoring two tries on the night, running for a team high 145 metres with two line breaks, one line break assist and three tackle breaks.
Young half Braydon Trindall showed just how far his game has come in the last five weeks as a starter, also scoring two tries, setting up another, kicking three goals, breaking four tackles and the line once. He continues to improve week in week out.
Up front, Sifa Talakai, Braden Hamlin-Uele and Jack Williams all ran for over 130 metres, with Aiden Tolman making a team high 34 tackles.
Whilst the young debutant in Luke Metcalf showed Sharks fans glimpses of his lightning pace in limited game time.
