Ramien ruled out

Sharks centre Jesse Ramien is a late withdrawal from the Sharks team to play Manly tonight due to an ear infection.

Ramien was ruled out by a Doctor earlier today, with youngster Jonaiah Lualua added to the Sharks 19-man squad.

The Sharks have until 7pm to finalise their 17-man team, however indications are that Siosifa Talakai will take over Ramien's centre position, with Jack Williams likely to come into the starting side.

Speedy half/fullback Luke Metcalf would be in line for an NRL debut should he be elevated into the final 17 as the bench utility.

The 22-year-old Metcalf played in the Sharks junior rep system, before switching to the Sea Eagles, then moving back to the Cronulla club on a Development contract at the start of the 2021 season. He had been a leading light with the Newtown Jets in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team prior to that competition shutting down.

Stay tuned for more team information later today, including Late Mail one hour before kick off, ahead of the game against Manly which gets underway at 8.05pm tonight.
