Late Mail - Sharks v Sea Eagles

The Sharks have confirmed the debut of youngster Luke Metcalf, as well as the earlier predicted changes to their team to face Many tonight following the withdrawal of centre Jesse Ramien due to illness.

Metcalf comes onto the interchange bench with Ramien ruled out, with Jack Williams moving into the run on side and Siosifa Talakai from the back row into the centres.

A halfback or fullback, the 22-year-old Metcalf will become Shark #546 with his debut tonight (CLICK HERE to read more)

Otherwise the Sharks side is as selected last Tuesday, with Aiden Tolman returning after serving a one-game suspension and the absence of Shaun Johnson, the only changes from the team which beat the Bulldogs at their last start.

Johnson suffered a hamstring strain, one which will unfortunately see him miss the remainder of the 2021 season. Braydon Trindall and the versatile Connor Tracey will form the Sharks halves partnership in tonight's game.

With a win in tonights game the Sharks would jump clear of the pack chasing the last two finals berths, however a loss would see them level with the Dragons, Raiders and Knights, the Titans just two points behind and with a match to play tonight, with five rounds left to be played.

Rescheduled from Sunday afternoon and originally set down to be played in Redcliffe, the Sharks v Manly match kicks off tonight at Suncorp Stadium. Crowds are not permitted with strict biosecurity procedures in place.
