A Sharks team on the back of three consecutive victories, against a Cowboys side looking to rebound after suffering a thumping at the hands on Manly last weekend, sets up an intriguing battle at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on Friday night.

In a match kicking off at 6pm, the Sharks will be riding high on confidence after scoring a one-point victory over the ladder-leading Panthers at their last start and have made just one forced change to their line-up.

Skipper Wade Graham will miss the match as he seeks advice and treatment following the head knock which forced him from the field last Friday night, his place taken by bulldozing back rower Siosifa Talakai.

Teig Wilton comes onto the Sharks interchange bench, while an interesting name on the extended reserves list is that of Braden Hamlin-Uele as the big front rower edges closer to a return to the field following mid-season ankle surgery.

The Sharks leave for North Queensland on Wednesday and will do their Captains Run in Townsville ahead of Friday nights game.
