While they were playing the competition leading Panthers, with 11 Sharks contracted players in their squad last weekend it was a disappointing result as the Jets went down by 32-16 to the Penrith side.
With the Sharks NRL squad becoming healthy as players return from long term injury, the Jets fielded a strong 17-man team but were unable to get the better of a well-oiled Panthers outfit.
Again this week the Jets are likely to be bolstered by the inclusion of a number of Sharks NRL players for a game against the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles where a victory is essential should they hope to remain in the race for a Knock On Effect NSW Cup Finals berth.
The Jets come into the contest in eighth place, with the Sea Eagles ninth, however with a condensed NSW Cup finals series this year a loss would leave the Newtown side with perhaps too much ground to make up over the closing rounds.
The game is scheduled for a 3pm kick off at Henson Park, with the Newtown team coming soon,
