Sharks girls show 'no mercy' in 80-point thrashing

The Harvey Norman Women's Premiership Sharks showed their opponents little mercy in scoring a comprehensive win over Cabramatta in their round nine match.

The Sharks scored 15 tries in an 80-0 win over the Cabramatta side, with full time being called early such was the dominance of the Cronulla side.

Leanne Tufuga scored five tries, Maddie Studdon kicking 10 goals in a win which kept the Sharks unbeaten through the opening rounds and on top of the HNWP  ladder.

The Sharks would score early, Crystal Papalii crossing in the fourth minute and from there it was a procession, nine first half tries, with seven Studdon conversions and it was 50-0 at the break.

From there the Sharks continued to keep the scoreboard operator busy, until the match was called prematurely after a 62nd minute Lynda Howarth four-pointer.

The HNWP takes a break this week before resuming with the Sharks to face the Wests Tigers in round 11. That match is scheduled for Saturday, May 22.

The Tigers sit fourth on the competition table, with the Sharks, Roosters and Mounties unbeaten so far this season.
