Sharks at Kareela hosts Aboriginal Cultural Program for kids
Sharks at Kareela played host to the Sharks School Holiday Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Program, with 25 kids taking part. A free Aboriginal painting class conducted by local Elder Aunty Deanna Schreiber and also attended by Rachal Allan the Sharks Indigenous Programs Coordinator, the well patronised and successful event is in alignment with Sharks Have Heart’s commitment to diversity and the club’s Reconciliation Action Plan. A special thank you to Sharks Have Heart Platinum Partner Woolooware Bay for making this and other community events and initiatives possible.
Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
