Nikora accepts suspension for shoulder charge

Sharks backrower Briton Nikora has accepted the early plea after being charged with a grade one shoulder charge in the loss to the Eels on Saturday night.

With the early plea, Nikora attracts a 225-point penalty, meaning he will miss the next two games against the Cowboys and Roosters.

The tackle in question was on Eels skipper Clint Gutherson in the 16th minute of the match.

Had Nikora decided to fight the charge in lodging a not guilty plea, he risked missing three games, with a 300 -point penalty assessed for an unsuccessful challenge at judiciary.

Teig Wilton, after an impressive performance deputising for the Sharks injured brigade on Saturday night, would be in line to take Nikora’s place in the back row.
