Vote for your Aramex Man of the Match

The Sharks will be looking to take some lessons from a tough loss ahead of their round three clash with the high-flying Eels next weekend.

There were positive signs early on with a relentless Raiders outfit keeping the Sharks locked on their own line for the opening 20 minutes, but the boys kept turning them away with some brilliant goal line defence.

Despite having a disappointing game with the boot in kicking one from four, Townsend was amongst the Sharks best in general play, providing two try assists on the night, Toby Rudolf put an interesting week behind him with an energetic performance in the middle, while Kennedy at the back continued his improvement with another enterprising display.

Blayke Brailey at hooker and Aaron Woods up front also did a good job against a powerful Raiders pack.

Who do you think deserves the title of Aramex ‘Man of the Match’ from our round two clash? Time to cast your votes!

The votes are in from last week, with Sharks members and fans identifying Will Kennedy as the popular choice as the Aramex Man of the Match from the round one win over the Dragons.

The young fullback scored two tries, ran for over 100 metres and was safe at the back in the wet and slippery conditions, with Kennedy attracting 37 per cent of the vote as the Sharks best in last weekend’s game.

Professionally guiding his team around the paddock and also slotting six goals from as many attempts on the day, half back Chad Townsend came in second on the fan vote with 19 per cent, while middle forward Toby Rudolf let his performance on the field do the talking, with the fans recognising his wholehearted efforts in the Sharks win.

Rudolf received 18 per cent of the vote, the Sharks number 13 making 31 tackles and running for 136 metres in his 64 minutes on the field.

Matt Moylan was another to stand out for the Sharks, playing in the five eight role it was an impressive return to the field after a year interrupted by injury in 2020.
