Jets v Knights - POSTPONED

ROUND 2 - JETS v KNIGHTS POSTPONED
The Newtown Jets v Newcastle Knights match, scheduled for PointsBet Stadium tomorrow, has been postponed due to the heavy rainfall.

The decision comes after two venue changes, the last of which was to have seen the match played at PointsBet Stadium.

At this stage, the Sharks v Raiders NRL clash and the game between the Sharks and the Victorian Thunderbirds in the Jersey Flegg competition, will still go ahead as planned.

The NRL match is at 6.15pm, the Jersey Flegg fixture kicks off at 3.45pm.

Jets Team List - Round 2

Luke Metcalf and Jack Williams are two significant additions to the Newtown Jets side to play the Newcastle Knights, with the pair returning to the field after suffering pre-season injuries.

Metcalf rolled an ankle two weeks ago which forced his to miss the first round of the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, while Williams received a nasty blow to the throat in the Sharks trial match against the Dragons, however the pair are now fit and ready to take their place in a revamped Jets line up this weekend.

The speedy Metcalf will play at fullback, Williams in the halves.

The Jets have lost centres Jackson Ferris and Tyrone Phillips to injury and coach Greg Matterson will welcome the likes of Andrew Fifita, Braydon Trindall and Nene Macdonald back into the side should they not be required for the Sharks NRL team. The trio have been named in the Sharks 21-man extended squad to play the Raiders on Sunday.

Showing commendable resilience with injuries forcing a team reshuffle, the Jets scored an impressive 16-10 round one victory over the St George Illawarra team in round one.

The Knights come into the game following a round one loss to Mounties.

The Jets team to take on the Knights is listed below;
