Tarsha Sharks suffer first loss for 2021

The winning run of the Tarsha Gale Sharks has come to an end, beaten 24-4 by the Newcastle Knights in their round four match played at PointsBet Stadium on Saturday.

Following two wins to start their 2021 season the Sharks faced a Knights team which had three victories from their opening three matches, with the visitors proving too good on the day.

In a positive for the young Sharks girls, after being down 24-4 at the half time break, the Cronulla side displayed commendable resolve in the second period, holding their opponents scoreless and giving them some confidence of an improved showing should the two teams meet again later in the year.

Chloe Boston was her teams' lone try scorer on the day, with the Sharks slipping to fourth on the Tarsha Gale ladder as a result of the Knights loss.

The Sharks now play the Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy team in their next match, which is scheduled for Bill Hicks Oval in Wyong on Saturday.
