The Tarsha Gale Sharks have won a second consecutive game to start their 2021 season in beating the Bulldogs 18-8 at PointsBet Stadium on Friday night.

Played in front of a healthy crowd, many hanging around to catch the action after watching the Sharks and Dragons in an NRL trial match, the Sharks recovered after conceding an early try and proved too good on the night.

The four tries to two win, following on from a narrow victory over the Raiders at their first start, has the Sharks, at least temporarily, on top of the Tarsha Gale ladder.

A second minute Bulldogs try gave the visitors plenty of confidence however the Sharks would take control, three first half four pointers, one to Ella Gould, the second by Ella Barker and a third by Zali Hopkins, converted by Sophia Griffin and the Cronulla girls would take a 14-4 lead to the break.

The second period wasn't all smooth sailing, with their opponents showing plenty of resistance after the Sharks had extended their lead to 18-4 courtesy of a Alexandra Weir try, a late Bulldogs touchdown narrowing the final margin.

The under-19 Tarsha Sharks have a round three bye next week.
