Zambrero has the Sharks back

Following on from a significant sponsorship announcement made last week, the Sharks have now secured international restaurant chain Zambrero as their back of jersey partner ahead of the kick off to the 2021 season.

Launched in 2005 by Dr Sam Prince in the Canberra suburb of Braddon, Zambrero has since grown to more than 200 restaurants world-wide, with sites across all states and territories of Australia as well as in New Zealand, the US and Ireland.

From those humble beginnings in Canberra, Zambrero has since evolved into a serious player in the highly competitive quick service restaurant market.

The partnership arrangement with Zambrero will see their branding appear on the top back of the Sharks NRL jerseys for the next two years.

Sharks CEO Dino Mezzatesta was proud to have the opportunity to announce another reputable international brand would be joining the Club’s corporate family.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured another respected international organisation in Zambrero as a Sharks jersey partner. It is a wonderful endorsement of our brand and the direction we are heading,” Mr Mezzatesta said.

“Zambrero is understandably best recognised for its food, however possibly less well known is their commitment to community through their Plate 4 Plate initiative, which has seen Zambrero donate more than 45 million meals to those in need.

“It is important for us to align ourselves with partners that not only excel in their field but have a community conscious that aligns with our values here at the Sharks.  Partnering with Zambrero ticks all of those boxes and we look forward to working closely together for at least the next two years,” he added.

In announcing the partnership, Zambrero CEO Matthew Kenny expressed his excitement to be joining forces with the Sharks and was confident the partnership would further raise their brand awareness and help grow their business.

“Zambrero is already enjoying outstanding success throughout Australia and we are excited to partner with a high profile NRL club in the Sharks. The national exposure that comes with partnering with the Sharks will be invaluable for not only the Zambrero brand, but our Plate 4 Plate initiative, where we donate a meal to someone in need for every burrito or bowl purchased at a Zambrero restaurant,” Mr Kenny said.

“We also look forward to showcasing our delicious Mexican-inspired food to locally based Sharks fans, with an announcement coming soon on a new restaurant opening in the Cronulla region.”

A contingent of the Sharks NRL squad dropped by the Crows Nest (NSW) Zambrero store today and could only agree that the food provided was ‘Zam-good’.
