Late Mail - Sharks v Knights

The Sharks were reporting no late changes to their squad to face the Newcastle Knights in the crucial round 17 clash at McDonald Jones Stadium tonight.

The Cronulla side lost try-scoring winger Sione Katoa due to a chest injury suffered in last week's win over the Cowboys, with the experienced Bryson Goodwin coming in, however there were no other changes today following the news of Goodwin's inclusion last night.

In other team news, Coach John Morris has stuck solid with Braydon Trindall after his standout performance last week, the youngster to this week partner Chad Townsend in the halves.

Townsend has been missing for five weeks since injuring his calf late in the Sharks round 11 win over the Dragons.

The versatile Connor Tracey drops back to the interchange bench where he will be used as the utility option.

As has been a consistent change from coach John Morris, Toby Rudolf will begin the game from the bench, with Scott Sorensen to start at lock.

Jack Williams and Teig Wilton drop out of the Sharks 19-man squad as named last night.

The Sharks and Knights match kicks off at 6.00pm, with the winner to get the jump on their opponents in the race for a finals berth.
