Young Shark Braydon Trindall has retained his place in the Sharks starting side, with Connor Tracey going back to the interchange bench to make way for the inclusion of Chad Townsend for the crucial round 17 clash with the Knights in Newcastle.

Amongst the Sharks best last weekend, Trindall will partner Townsend for the first time, with Kiwi international Shaun Johnson sidelined for at least another week with a hamstring issue.

Also solid for the Sharks in the Cowboys win, Tracey’s versatility may have worked against him at the selection table, with the local junior the perfect bench utility with his ability to cover hooker and a handful of backline positions if needed.

The rest of the Sharks starting side remains the same as the previous week, while joining Tracey on the bench is Scott Sorensen, Siosifa Talakai and Royce Hunt, with Andrew Fifita named in jersey 21.

The match between the seventh placed Knights and eighth-placed Sharks is scheduled for a 6.00pm kick off at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday.
