The two points were there for the taking but the Sharks fell agonisingly short of a stirring victory over the Parramatta Eels on a pitch that looked more like a water park on Sunday.
Despite the result, we want to hear from you, to see who you think deserves the title of the Sharks best on-field.
Match Highlights: Sharks v Eels
In a match played in torrential rain, the Sharks scored three tries to two, with goal kicking the difference, a late Mitchell Moses penalty goal sealing the win for the visitors.
Shaun Johnson added two-more to his NRL leading try assist tally, with the rain holding up his grubber to within centimetres of the deal ball line. Jesse Ramien winning the foot race to score the Sharks only points in the first half.
Despite the tricky conditions, his second half 40-20 and two try assists kept his side in the match.
Denied one shortly after Ramien, Ronaldo Mulitalo came out in the second half and bagged himself a double, juggling his way over mid-way through the second half for his first, before weaving his way through the Eels defence and slamming it down just four minutes later.
The pack worked hard against a highly-rated opposition, Aaron Woods led from the front with a team high 34 tackles in a bruising display. Siosifa Talakai continued his recent run of form with some crunching hits and 178 metres.
Promoted to the starting side an hour before kick-off, Scott Sorensen made the most of his opportunity notching 30 tackles in 35 minutes with some tough carries. Royce Hunt and Toby Rudolf working hard off the bench in the tough conditions.
