Injury Update: Young gun to miss Dragons clash

While the Sharks are hoping to confirm the return of Chad Townsend and Andrew Fifita for the game against St George Illawarra at Campbelltown Stadium when teams are announced later today, they are set to be without one of their outstanding young talents with Ronaldo Mulitalo to be ruled out with a knee injury.

Amongst the Sharks best in their win over the Cowboys last weekend, Mulitalo managed to finish the game, before reporting knee soreness later that night.

Mulitalo was due to undergo scans and visit a specialist this afternoon, with a prognosis and the length of time he is likely to spend on the sidelines, yet to be determined.

The Sharks team will be announced at 4.00pm today, with Souths recruit Mawene Hiroti and Jackson Ferris, the scorer of the match-winning try for the Jets in their Canterbury Cup Grand Final  last year, in line to replace Mulitalo.

Townsend and Fifita, the pair missing from the team which beat the Cowboys in Townsville, both trained at PointsBet Stadium today.
