Jersey Flegg Team List – Round 1

The Jersey Flegg Sharks begin their 2020 season with a match against the defending premiers the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Redfern Oval on Sunday.

The Sharks, under the coaching of Daniel Holdsworth, finished 2019 as minor premiers, only to bow out in consecutive extra time losses, one of those coming at the hands of the Rabbitohs who would eventually take out the under-20’s title.

Holdsworth is again in charge, this year of a squad which sees a handful of players returning, sprinkled in with a number of new faces.

Included in the Sharks team for round one are fullback Jonaiah Lualua, Vito Tevaga and prop Franklin Pele, with the trio having trained with the NRL squad during the summer.

Backrower Jack Boyling and hooker Isaac Longmuir has been named co-captains of the Sharks side.

The game against Souths is scheduled for a 2.10pm kick-off at Metricon High Performance Centre (Redfern Oval) on Sunday afternoon. The Jets, the Sharks partner club in the NSWRL Canterbury Cup, follow the Flegg with a match against Souths at 4.00pm.
