The Cronulla Sharks Skills Development Program provides opportunities to athletes in the Shire to take their Rugby League skills to another level.
Entering its fifth year, the program has been updated to have an intensive focus on tackling technique, safe body positioning and core skills. The program runs for 6 sessions over 6 weeks and is the perfect preparation for the upcoming Junior League season. It is ideal for both beginners as well as experienced players looking to further develop.
The program has been designed by Cronulla Sharks Academy and Talent Identification Manager Glenn Brailey. Glenn’s experience includes 9 years at the Cronulla Sharks where he currently oversees the entire Junior Reps Program and has been directly involved with Harold Matthews, Winter Academy and Development squads. Glenn also has experience as Head Coach of the Samoa Women’s team and is the Head Coach of the Cronulla Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s team.
The program will also feature Cronulla Sharks star Shaun Johnson as the program ambassador and Jillaroo’s Corban McGregor, Tiana Penitani, Maddie Studdon as well as New Zealand Ferns player Kiana Takairangi who are onboard as program coaches. The program will include an array of coaches from the Sharks Academy program, giving participants the opportunity to access Sharks style coaching throughout the program.
The Cronulla Sharks are committed to providing this professional program to all juniors seeking to improve their skills and techniques in Rugby League. We believe safe and correct tackling technique is an important aspect to any Junior Rugby league player. This program ensures each participant is taught effective and safe techniques whilst being analysed by high level coaches to guarantee the outcomes of the program are achieved.
