It will be a huge occasion on Sunday for a couple of reasons, with the Sharks desperate for a win to remain in the title hunt on a day when they farewell perhaps their greatest ever player when he runs out for his last-ever game at PointsBet Stadium.

The Sharks overcame the Warriors to give themselves hope of a Finals appearance but will need to lift their game to an even higher level when they tackle the Canberra Raiders this weekend.

And if the team needed any extra incentive, Sunday marks the final game on home soil for Sharks skipper Paul Gallen as he bids farewell to the loyal Shire fans.

The game was close to a sell out as of team announcement time on Tuesday, ensuring a full house to see out Gallen and to cheer the Sharks onto a crucial victory in the round 24 clash.

The Sharks have named a team without Sosaia Feki and Jack Williams, after the pair suffered leg injuries in the game against the Warriors, Sione Katoa coming into the team on the wing, while Jayson Bukuya returns on the interchange bench.

Matt Moylan, out last week with a hamstring strain, has been named in jersey 21, with the Sharks to monitor his progress throughout the week.
