The Sharks Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership team’s season came to a halt just one week shy of a Grand Final appearance in 2019, with the girls bowing out to eventual premiers Newcastle in a close fought finals clash.
The Sharks team, which contained Australian Jillaroos and NSW Origin representatives, were proud of their achievements but disappointed at the same time to have come up just short after a strong season in the premier NSWRL women’s competition.
Also pleasing was the fact the Sharks were able to blood a number of their young and talented Tarsha Gale girls, players to have come through the club’s junior development system, in a good pointer to the team’s future prospects.
Glenn Brailey, in his first year in charge of the Women’s team, dealt with injury and player unavailability during the back end of the year, giving even more merit to efforts of his squad in getting within just one game of the HNWP decider.
The Sharks are already looking towards 2020 and to progressing a few steps further and are inviting expressions of interest from those looking to play for the Club next year.
Dependent on the response, in-house trials may be required at a time and date to be advised.
Those players interested in playing for the Sharks in 2020 are asked to go to the following link and to fill out and return the registration form. A representative of the club will then be in touch.
