Canterbury Cup Team List - Jets v Magpies

The two points from the bye, added to the victory the previous week against the Panthers, has the Jets poised to cement a finals berth with a win over the Western Suburbs Magpies on Saturday.

Currently seventh, the Jets can consolidate their position on the ladder if successful, but they will have their hands full with an equally desperate Magpies outfit, one sitting three places, yet only two competition points behind Newtown on the Canterbury Cup ladder.

The Jets would have benefitted from the opportunity to rest up and recuperate at this late stage in the season, while the Magpies come into the contest on the back of a 24-18 loss to the Panthers at their last start.

The match, which is played for the Tom Raudonikis Cup, named in honour of the former champion halfback who played for both the Newtown and Western Suburbs clubs, is scheduled for the early kick off time of 12.45pm at Henson Park on Saturday.

With the Sharks reporting just one injury concern amongst their NRL squad, the Jets will field a sprinkling of top-grade contracted players for the match which for those unable to get to Henson Park, will be televised live on Fox Sports.
