Flashes of brilliance, coupled with control and composure when it mattered, has earned Shaun Johnson the Fan Poll man-of-the-match from the round 19 win over the Cowboys.
In what was his third game back after missing a large chunk of action due to injury, Johnson’s performance will have pleased coach John Morris with some big games on the horizon, and it obviously pleased Sharks fans as well, with the Kiwi playmaker polling 37 per cent of the vote.
Next best was captain courageous Paul Gallen, the skipper running for over 220 metres, while making 37 tackles in a highly productive 60-minute outing last Thursday night.
While also receiving some praise from the fans was fullback Josh Dugan, who after a slow start managed a try and handed in an all-around solid game for his team in the Sharks win.
Dugan polled nine per cent of the vote, marginally ahead of rookie winger Ronaldo Mulitalo.
Half back Chad Townsend narrowly leads the season points table
