The results from the Fan Poll are in, with the votes spread following the one-point loss to the Warriors.
Despite a disappointing result, the Sharks had a number of solid performers on the night, in the opinion of the Fans, none better than young back rower Briton Nikora.
A Kiwi international for the first time in 2019, Nikora scored a smart first-half try, running off a Shaun Johnson pass, and was strong throughout the match in being recognised as a worthy winner of the Fan Poll vote.
Nikora polled 20 per cent of the vote, narrowly in front of Kurt Capewell, this week playing in the centres in another indication of his versatility.
Third on the poll and one point in the Player of the Year standings went to Sosaia Feki (11%), narrowly in front of Shaun Johnson (10%) and Braden Hamlin-Uele (9%).
The Sharks winger showed amazing athleticism to get the ball down for a try despite the best efforts of Warrior skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to deny him.
Chad Townsend remains on top in the season-long race, with Nikora narrowing the gap with his three points and best-on-ground performance
